About Growpot

Growpot is a small, independent gardening site run by Keyur, a sole trader based in Brisbane, Queensland.

What this site is for

I started Growpot because most of the gardening advice I found online didn't match what happens on a Brisbane balcony. Plants that are "easy" elsewhere bolt in our heat, pots that suit a mild climate bake in a Queensland summer, and nobody mentions what a week of February storms does to a pot without drainage.

Growpot focuses on small-space growing in South-East Queensland: containers, potting mix, herbs, chillies and simple vegetables for balconies, courtyards, windowsills and rental properties where you can't dig up the yard.

How the content is made

• Guides are written for local conditions: subtropical seasons, humidity, heavy summer rain and mild, dry winters.
• I aim to be practical and honest. If a cheaper option or no purchase at all will do the job, I'll say so, as in the grow light guide.
• Product links are mostly Amazon Australia search links by type (for example, "a deep 30 cm pot") so you can compare current options yourself, and the advice stays useful whichever brand you choose.
